Jacksonville Jaguars keep two QBs: Minshew & Luton

The Jacksonville Jaguars made their roster cuts to the 53 man roster limit. In a surprising move, they released Mike Glennon and Josh Dobbs. Gardner Minshew and Jake Luton are the only quarterbacks remaining on the Jaguars roster heading into week one.

Dobbs was obtained from Pittsburgh last season as Minshew’s backup during the injury of Nick Foles. Glennon was signed this spring to be the veteran presence in the locker room. The big question remains whether Jacksonville adds another quarterback to the practice squad.

Miami released Josh Rosen, a former first-round draft selection. The LA Rams released Bryce Perkins, an undrafted rookie quarterback from Virginia. Or will they make another deal before the trade deadline?

The 2020 season will be interesting. Many fans believe that the Jaguars are in active pursuit of Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence. They would have to tank by losing nearly every game.

Shad Khan has told Jaguars fans repeatedly that losing is unacceptable. If the Jaguars lose fifteen games, wouldn’t Doug Marrone and Dave Caldwell get fired? Here’s a crazy scenario.

The Jaguars tank and get the first overall pick of the draft. By the way, they have never had the first overall pick ever. Tony Boselli, Kevin Hardy, and Luke Joeckel were the second overall picks of their draft. Back to the scenario.

Marrone and Caldwell get fired and Clemson coach Dabo Swinney gets hired as head coach and Tony Khan becomes the general manager. Crazier things have happened. Let’s see how it plays out.
