Jawaan Taylor faces tough matchup in Emmanuel Ogbah

Jacksonville Jaguars right tackle Jawaan Taylor faces a tough matchup in London on Sunday. He draws the assignment of containing Miami Dolphin edge rusher Emmanuel Ogbah. Trevor Lawrence will need Taylor to corral Ogbah to give him time to get the ball to the open receiver.

The Jacksonville offensive line has been decimated with injuries throughout the first five games. A.J. Cann is on the injured reserve list. Ben Bartch is now the starter at right guard. Last week, another key lineman went down.

Center Brandon Lindor was injured on the infamous 4th and goal debacle. Lindor easily graded as the Jaguars best lineman by Pro Football Focus. Tyler Shatley is the new starting center.

Expect Jacksonville to run behind Andrew Norwell and Cam Robinson. The running game neutralizes the pass rush, in most cases. Jacksonville needs a good game from Taylor.

Analytically speaking, Taylor grades out at 63.6 and Ogbah grades out at 85.4. Taylor has to rise to the occasion with new personnel at center and right guard. He can expect some help from a tight end or running back chipping Ogbah.

Miami has sacked the quarterback nine times in 2021. The Dolphin defense is the strength of the team. Miami will unleash a ferocious pass rush to disrupt the quiet mind of Lawrence.

Jacksonville can not afford to be conservative with its game plan. The Jaguars are struggling to snap the 20 game losing streak heading into their week 7 bye. After all, Jacksonville needs to play each down to win the game. They can not afford to play not to lose.

Jacksonville’s mind set should be aggressive in the play calling on both sides of the ball. Offensively, they need to move the ball down the field to wear down the Dolphin defense. Defensively, the Jaguars have to put immense pressure on Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

The game will be won or loss in the trenches. Taylor must have a good game. Be sure to catch the current JJC podcast where Andre Moultry accurately discusses the Jaguars situation in each podcast episode.
