The Jacksonville Jaguars have begun to fill the openings in the front office and coaching staff. Jacksonville is clearly in the process of rebuilding the team and culture. The great re-set is in full swing and is rapidly gaining momentum.
Urban Meyer hit a home run with the hiring of his new defensive coordinator. Joe Cullen will leave his post with the Baltimore Ravens to lead the Jaguars defense. Expect Jacksonville to transition from a 4-3 defense into a 3-4 defense. Cullen will be very instrumental in the transition.
According to Tom Pelissero, The Jacksonville Jaguars are expected to sign Darrell Bevell as the Offensive coordinator. Darrell Bevell is most known for his work with the Seattle Seahawks as their offensive coordinator from 2011-2017. During his time with the Seahawks, he was very instrumental in developing Russell Wilson and help to accomplish a Super Bowl in that process. Bevell will be the guy that will be aiding in the development of Trevor Lawrence.
Trent Baalke is the third gem for the Jaguars trinity. Baalke, Meyer, and Shad Khan make up the Jaguars trinity. To fill the role as assistant GM, Baalke has reached out to a friend and co-worker from San Francisco, Tom Gamble. Gamble leaves the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League to join the Jaguars front office.
These are very fluid times for the Jaguars. All signs point towards a franchise on the rise. Meyer is going to be the one to create the new team culture. Leadership is the key that allows teams to rise or fall.
